Who doesn't love a pup in their golden years.. I know I sure do!
It's always an adventure shooting your dogs together.. especially if you have more than two of them. Miracles do happen here!
These little guys carry such big attitudes. They make me laugh always, and as the owner of a little dog myself - I love their sass.
So much personality in a dog's ears.. To get those antennas to pop up I've been known to make all sorts of strange and embarrassing noises. You never know what will get their ears up - weird noise, weird word, a whistle or a good old treat.
Some dogs look so good in black and white. Any image we take can be converted to this classic and timeless look. Dogs that have lots of markings look particularly great this way
Big dogs can be a special challenge. They often fill my paper backdrop and seem to be the most fearful when their tails wag and it rattles the paper. I love a cuddly big pup - great for hugging on.
This page is dedicated to not only dogs I have photographed that were currently living in a rescue, but to dogs I’ve had the pleasure of meeting that were rescued and now live in loving homes.
Rescuing animals can be done many ways.. Adopt an animal from the humane society or a private rescue. Help to foster animals in need. However it’s done, you will be repaid in spades with the undying love you receive back.
I will donate a Kurunda dog bed to a rescue of your choice for every $500 purchase of artwork.
My friends in rescue, as well as the many others that work in rescue by fostering, saving dogs, donating their time, and giving money have my undying admiration and love.
If you are a rescue worker, or know of a worthy someone that deserves to have the joy of custom artwork of their dog, please contact me. I often give discounts as I know there isn't much money to be made in the rescue world. The reward doesn't often come monetarily - although the love they receive and their place in the cosmic order of good works is amazing stuff!
Always do what you can with the means you are given..
Sometimes it's just about impossible to get a dog to love my backdrop. Dogs that are fearful, or pups that are very busy and active, can often be tricked into posing by using a piece of your furniture. If you own a really interesting chair for example, it's fun to experiment and use it as a prop. My backdrop is best for ultimate flexibility, but sometimes the furniture just looks cool too.
Every dog is awesome..
